We are previewing the 2019 season already:
2019 Conference Comparison and Expected Wins
Arizona
Sumlin was pretty fired up, by the standards of the very eve-keeled coach, on his radio show this week. The Wildcats need to re-establish the run and other take-aways from the game.
Arizona State
The Sun Devils were able to get by Kent State with relative ease. How did the true freshman QB play?
Cal
The Bears opened up a new locker room paid for by Aaron Rodgers; who appears to have forgiven his alma mater for how they handled Tedford. Five things that could make or break the Bears.
Colorado
A Buffs great chatted with the Denver Post about Shenault. What to watch out for in the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
Oregon
I was really hoping Mario Cristobal would have better taste in books. A nice breakdown of Auburn's personnel from one of the better Pac-12 analysts we know.
Oregon State
The Beavers have a big time opponent coming to town. Despite the struggles people are confident in Jonathan Smith around the program.
Stanford
The Cardinal have a tough schedule, but what can they do to succeed against it. They have a tough opener against Northwestern that the projection model has as a tossup.
UCLA
Things are not great for Chip Kelly right now, but they are even worse when you look at the QB room and people are willing to say this. I was at the game last night and Cincinnati has a good defense and their passing game was picking the Bruins apart, with Holmes out, but UCLA's run defense was a lone bright spot. Cincy is a good team though so it's not the end of the world.
USC
USC has a chance to get people talking about good football again; of course if they struggle then Chip Kelly's blow back is going to seem like a cake walk.
Utah
The Utes took care of BYU, but they certainly left with you with some questions about downfield passing.
Washington
Chris Petersen wants you to keep the Eason hype in perspective. An in depth look at the depth chart.
Washington State
It's Anthony Gordon's time at WSU. A nice breakdown on the Cougs from their beat writer getting interviewed in a Las Cruces paper.
Football Thing:
A lot of what Hawai'i ran against Arizona were routes like these that are designed to put pressure on zones by requiring defenders to be in two places at once.
Non-Football Things:
This is a good book.
This is a good song.
This is good to know. These are just excellent.
